Some of Our Favourite Attractions
Here are a few of the many attractions we have visited and enjoyed in the area. Purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at Paynter's Market. Enjoy a wine tasting at a local winery. Experience kayaking surrounded by the mountains on Lake Okanagan in Peachland. Take a relaxing afternoon stroll around Shannon Lake. Enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the many restaurants, such as Old Vines Restaurant at Quails' Gate Winery. To finish the day, an evening walk at the promenade, around Kelowna City Park and the Marina.
There are three trailheads from the parking lot. The Boucherie Rush Trail is the one that takes you to the top of Mt Boucherie. The views at the top are well worth the climb. This trail is well maintained, with switchbacks and wooden railings at the narrower and steeper sections of the trail.

Peachland which is located just 15 minutes south of Adela's B&B is a quaint tourist oriented town. Stroll along Beach Avenue, check out the many shops and restaurants. Enjoy the park along the lakeside. Fish off the newly installed pier.

The view of the Marina at sunset! The Marina at Kelowna sits between City Park & Waterfront Park and is the base to a number of Okanagan Lake cruises and water adventure sports. A nice place to explore the lake from. The promenade allows you to stroll along the lake. Many events held here throughout the summer.
Access Points: Parking lot off of Shannon Lake Road is just 2 minutes from our home.
About this Hike: This is perfect for a leisurely stroll as there are wide flat trails that are stroller and wheelchair-friendly. This park borders a residential neighbourhood and a golf course. The park features picnic tables, as well as a small lake that is perfect for canoeing or watching birds.

Access Point: Follow Hwy 97 to the south end of Peachland, turn right on Hardy Street and follow it to the trailhead. Public parking and public washrooms available.

About this Hike: Hardy Falls, Peachland, BC ... ... is only a 20-minute drive from Adela's Bed and Breakfast. The hike in from the parking lot is a leisurely 10-minute stroll along a very level path with bridges that crisscross over Deep Creek. I spotted a couple of birds I had not yet seen in BC, the American Dipper and the Cedar Waxwing. The path to Hardy Falls is wheelchair/stroller accessible.

Access Point: From Hwy 97 ollow Hwy 97 to the south end of Peachland, turn right on Hardy Street and follow it to the trailhead. Public parking and public washrooms available.

About this Hike: Pincushion Mountain Trail, Peachland, BC ... ... is only a 20-minute drive from Adela's Bed and Breakfast. The hike in from the parking lot is a moderately difficult hike. Hiking shoes or runners required as some sections are loose gravel. Typical time to hike is about 1 hour each way. We took 3 hours as we stopped often for photos and spent time at the summit.
Features: Amazing vista of Lake Okanagan washroom facilities.
